WHY?
In our pursuit to offer the One Day Light, most ask: WHY!?!
My name is Brett Carreras. Let me try to answer that question:
I have been exhibiting at “Trade Shows” since I was 12 years old, selling comic books. I co-operate the DC Comicon and the VA Comicon. I have setup at ALL of the largest Comic book conventions, up to 1,000+ SF displays. I have professionally attended the JCK show in Las Vegas, as well as the International Jewelry show in Basil, Switzerland. I know this:
The BEST WAY to sell MORE PRODUCT is for people to be able to SEE it!
In 2008 I paid over $3,000+ just to rent electricity at the LARGER tradeshows I went to (whose lights are STORIES above the exhibitor, or worse…example: click the pic to the right), leaving smaller, hotel shows to be even WORSE illuminated. Everything I needed was rechargeable, EXCEPT for the lights…which were awkward to carry when we COULD afford to rent the electricity…
My credit card machine is battery powered, my computer is battery powered, and now there are cash registers that are battery powered… The trade-show industry NEEDS THIS! A lighting product that 1) costs less than the price of a SINGLE weekend of electricity rental at a big show, 2) something that can safely illuminate up to 8′ of backdrop-display, and 3) something that is PORTABLE! (Would you believe I used to wheel a 40 lb battery to shows to power my booth…groan!)
Well…thanks for listening to me rant…hopefully it will encourage at least a few of you to NEVER have to rent electricity at a trade show AGAIN! -Brett
